The 7th edition of the Airport Infra Expo will take place in Brasília on April 26 and will bring together industry players to discuss the current scenario and perspectives for this market with a fundamental role for economic development.
According to the National Civil Aviation Secretary (SAC), Dario Rais Lopes, events such as the Airport Infra Expo are essential, “since they allow closer dialogue with the various segments that compose civil aviation, where we can listen to the demands and industry critics. Interlocution is fundamental for correcting and adjusting actions aimed to improve civil aviation in Brazil. ”
The Secretary points out that civil aviation is expected to resume a strong growth pace, as demand for domestic travel increased by 3.51% in 2017, while demand for international flights increased 12.05%, both in the compared to 2016: “(…) this gradual resumption of growth requires a time for stabilization. Therefore, our projections for demand indicate that the movement in Brazilian airports in 2018 will be around 203.7 million passengers and, by 2019, will achieve more expressive growth rates above 4% per year. ”
The Director General of the Air Space Control Department (DECEA), Air Lieutenant Jeferson Domingues de Freitas, also points to integration as an essential point for the growth of the sector: “In air transport, especially nowadays, there is no more space for isolated actions and unilateral decisions. There is a recurrent need for narrowing in inter-agency relationships through collaborative strategies and actions. I also point out that the continued growth of airports and, consequently, aviation is always viewed with good eyes. ”
